Conference Fee: $350.00

Hotel Reservations: Please call The Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf directly at and request the WECA room rate of $135/night (plus tax). The Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf has guaranteed room availability at the WECA rate from September 24 through October 2, 2004. The WECA room rate is not guaranteed if you make your reservations online through the Hyatt site.

  • An opportunity to develop consistency in interpreting OMB Circulars (A-21, A-110, A-133), in negotiating long-form calculations, the Cost Accounting Standards, and in other related procedures

  • An opportunity to find better and more standard methods of developing a long-form indirect cost proposal

  • An opportunity to attend the basic session, which discusses terminology, long-form calculations, and negotiation strategies

  • An opportunity to obtain useful ideas from group interaction and discussion with experts

 
 Prerequisites

There are no prerequisite courses required. However, participants should be familiar with the Cost Accounting Standards, OMB Circular A-21, OMB Circular A-110, and the Facilities and Administrative Rate calculations. The program level is intermediate/advanced, but beginners to these concepts can obtain useful information and ideas.

 
 Registration Policies
top

Deadlines: All attendees must be registered for the conference by August 31, 2004. Attendees and speakers are not officially registered until they have received a confirmation reply via e-mail from the Caltech Office of Cost Studies. The registration fee covers attendance for one person. The fee includes refreshment breaks, one lunch, two breakfasts, and one dinner.

Payment: Payment may be made using Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or paper check via the online registration form.

 

Transfers: Registrations may be transferred to another member of your institution with advance written notice to WECA. Contact Deston Halverson at deston.halverson@caltech.edu, or by telephone at (626) 395-3877 for details if this becomes necessary.

Fee Waivers: The following individuals are exempt from paying the conference fee:

  • College or University Presenters - one speaker per presentation topic
  • Consultants - one speaker per company; and
  • Government Presenters - all presenters

Cancellation: If for any reason you need to cancel your registration, please do so before September 16, 2004. You will be refunded your full registration fee less a $50.00 processing charge. No refund requests will be honored after September 16, 2004.

In the event of cancellation or change in hotel or date, registrants will be notified by WECA immediately. WECA will not be responsible for any travel or other expenses incurred by participants due to a program cancellation. There may be a change in scheduled presenters due to illness or other circumstances.


 
 General Guidelines

Smoking: Smoking is not permitted in the meeting rooms.

Attire: These are working sessions, so please dress casually. If you have a tendency to get cold, please bring a sweater because the temperature in the meeting rooms may be cool

 Continuing Education Credits
top

Continuing Education Credits - University of Florida - SE Conference on College Cost Accounting - Attendance at all sessions will provide you with 16 continuing professional education (CPE) credits subject to your state's acceptance of the subject matter presented. CPE certificates will not be issued prior to completion of the last session. In accordance with the standards of the National Registry of CPE Sponsors, CPE credits have been based on a 50-minute hour. Certificates will be mailed to you. The University of Florida - SE Conference on College Cost Accounting is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State Boards of Accountancy have the final authority on the acceptance of individual courses.
